As Stubbs Island Whale Watching enters its 30th year of taking people from all over the world to see the amazing orcas in the wild and Jim has reached the big 60, it is time for us to start thinking of slowing down. With this in mind and our love for Telegraph Cove, the Blackfish Archipelago and the M.V. Gikumi we formed a new company in 2004, Orcella Expeditions.

Our plan is to sell the ‘parent’ company Stubbs Island Whale Watching and to keep the M.V. Gikumi with Orcella Expeditions and continue doing our multi-day natural history expeditions from Telegraph Cove.

It is the desire for this slower pace that has been the catalyst to make the decision to offer this unique business opportunity.
